Having started my career as an architect, flow is consistently present in my work. Value, composition and balance, along with structure and looseness come together. I strive for an organic feeling of movement and rhythm.
My abstract realism incorporates both recognizable elements as well as abstraction. Working with paint, fiber and assemblage in various combinations creates a touchstone to both the natural and man-made environments. I love the three dimensional quality of a piece that incorporates texture through collage, mixed media and layering.
I am intrigued by color as well as texture. I naturally gravitate toward blues, greens and other cool tones, with a splash of red for warmth and vibrancy. The work evolves during its creation. When it is complete, nothing more is wanted or needed.
