My art is inspired by the humans and animals I see in things like stains and cracks on sidewalks. I work primarily in watercolor and have developed a personal style characterized by minimal lines and naive shading. My process is not defined by preconceived ideas that I bring to the table, but rather one in which I give myself over to the bidding of the stains and the cracks that call out to me. I lend them the hands they need to come into life; they bring me joy and peace. To borrow the words of people who follow my work, my pieces are as much poetry as they are visual art. The occasionally irreverent and often comical beings I help bring to the page compel us to laugh with them, to contemplate an idea, or simply enjoy a moment of tranquility.
