Our Current Focus is Researching and Writing About Our Many Past Presidents
Each year in our Annual Catalog, we have a list of our Past Presidents. In last year’s catalog we have 59 women who have stepped forward to help promote the mission of NAWA which, as listed on our website, is to promote awareness of, and interest in, visual art created by women in the United States.
Since our ability to capture and store information has changed exponentially since NAWA was founded in 1889, we have the opportunity to honor the efforts of these women. Our Historical Research Team has decided to focus their newest project on these dedicated Past Presidents. To that end, we invite our members in all categories to join us in our research and interview efforts. If you like to talk to people instead of reading about them we have more recent Past Presidents who would love to hear from you. And if you like googling better, you can choose any of our earlier Past Presidents to see if you can find any information about them, their art and their work.
This is a perfect Micro Project if you are looking to fulfill your yearly 6-hour-per-year volunteer commitment.
