Some of you are old enough to remember when that iconic feminist singer, Helen Reddy first sang “I am woman, hear me roar!”  Now that we are waking from the long slumber the pandemic forced upon us, we can step out into the universe again, refreshed, reinvigorated, and ready to show the world a thing or two.

Getting ready for summer and all that means for our creativity, it was time to give NAWA NOW a virtual facelift as well.  We want to make navigating your magazine easier, so you don’t miss any of the features about our membership as well as women artists across the country who are making our existence a little more exciting every day.  Many of you showed real courage and commitment to your art during COVID in WHERE WE ARE NOW and you will want to learn more about your fellow members’ amazing works in our SHOUT OUTS.  We have a special tribute to Wilhelmina Cole Holladay, the legendary founder of The National Museum of Women in the Arts who passed away this year at 98. There is more On and Under the Radar, such as the incomparable Alice Neel’s Met exhibition and others you will want to read about.

These words from the inimitable Dr. Seuss speak volumes: “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”  I would just add “create what you will” with the same sentiment in mind.

It’s time to celebrate!
