Listening
10 x 8″
oil on canvas

This symbolic work draws on familiar characters from traditional stories, where the fox appears as a clever trickster and hunter, and the bird as a messenger or voice of intuition.

These two figures can be seen as different aspects of one personality – opposing forces that often exist in tension. The fox moves through the world with instinct, action, and self-protection, while the bird represents intuition, reflection, and inner guidance.

The painting imagines a moment when both pause. The fox does not hunt, and the bird does not retreat. Instead, they listen to each other.

In a world filled with noise, urgency, and constant movement, understanding often begins when neither side is trying to win. It begins with listening.
