The National Association of Women Artists and Vanda Gallery present
She the People

April 1, 2026 – July 25, 2026
Reception/Artist Talk on Zoom: April 16, 5PM OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

The National Association of Women Artists proudly announces She the People, an exhibition of NAWA Signature Member work reflecting the many ways women contribute and inspire generationally, reflecting on past, present, and future. She the People is a visual narrative exploring identity, providing an essential voice in the role of women shaping democracy.

This exhibition is part of America250, the nationwide initiative  commemorating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. This online presentation of She the People ensures that women’s voices and achievements are central to this historic milestone.

About NAWA
The National Association of Women Artists (NAWA), founded in 1889, stands as the first professional women’s organization established in the United States.

Five pioneering women sought to address the lack of opportunities for women artists. Anita C. Ashley, Adele Francis Bedell, Elizabeth S. Cheever, Grace Fitz-Randolph, and Edith Mitchill Prellwitz spearheaded a vital alternative to the restrictions of the day, providing a supportive network and avenues for exhibition.
