I’ve always been interested in and inspired by water, how it moves and flows, and have tried to express how it makes me feel in paint. For this painting I was thinking about the night sky over water and the vastness of both.
Many transparent washes were applied in order to intensify and vary the color palette. I generally take anywhere from a few weeks to months to complete a painting, as I like to step away and return to a work with a fresh eye for correcting and improving my vision.
