Inspired by Lee Krasner, this collage is made from parts of abandoned paintings. I cut out compositional elements I could salvage from a failed painting on paper and by rearraning them on a fresh surface composed a new work. I like giving an alternative life to select elements that were not in a supportive environment in a previous painting. By releasing selected shapes from a disastrous work, a new painting can emerge.
