My artwork is an expression of the joy and peace I experience while enjoying nature.

I choose to work with soft pastels because I love their versatility and directness of application. The beautiful pure pigments are perfect for depicting the way light plays off the colors and textures in nature.

This pastel painting was inspired by a hike near my home in Rockland County, NY. I hope to convey not only the beauty of this scene but also the experience of the hike.
