The Living Room began as a pencil drawing of my own space—structured, representational, familiar. Layering acrylic paint and oil pastels, I wondered: can anything literal be abstracted, and why does that matter? As the work evolved, lines softened, forms unraveled, and the room itself dissolved into color, gesture, and memory. What began as a place became a question—about perception, emotion, and the shifting point where reality yields to abstraction.
