On a flight out of Ft Lauderdale, I was stunned by the beauty of the Bahamas’ West End. Using varying viscosities of acrylic paint, multiple layers were added, scraped through, and manipulated, creating a tactile surface. Transparent layers intertwine with thick impasto structures reminiscent of the carbonite rocks and coral reefs visible in the crystal clear waters of the Atlantic.
