This watercolor was a sketch that was part of a series of studies and paintings of a sculpture that “spoke to me” at Brookgreen Gardens. in Murrells Inlet, SC. I had visited the NAWA SC Chapter in 2023, and took some photos of some of the sculptures in the gardens. When the chapter secured an exhibition at the Gardens’ Rosen Galleries, I decided to explore the bronze sculpture, Circle of Life- part of the 4 Seasons series by Harold “Tuck” Langland, created in 2001. This sculpture shows a yoga pose; my daughter teaches yoga, I have done yoga for decades, and she is now in the south where Spanish moss proliferates.
