After graduating from Art school I found I wanted to create work that had meaning to me not just what was the current trend in Art, or what someone else thought Art should be. So I began by creating a series of circle of life drawings that communicated the interconnectedness of life.
Using one of these drawings, I created a serigraph, or more commonly known as silkscreen print. I adjust the drawing in photoshop to create a bitmap transparency. The transparency is placed under an emulsion coated screen that is developed so the image makes up the open parts on the screen. Ink is pushed through onto paper. Multiple screens or direct application is used for additional colors.
