I saw the cool winter light shining through the kitchen window. It reminded me of Vermeer paintings I was so familiar with. I couldn’t help but want to replicate that feeling. Using my new favorite medium, watercolor, and my granddaughter as my model, I proceeded to act upon that impulse, creating the painting, “Mother’s Helper.”
