I work both 2 and 3 dimensionally and always with the female figure often layering the form with marks or in this case branches. These two figures represent my love of ancient forms, natural environments and are to allude to the spirits I encounter in the woods. Lastly, as a child I lived in a rural place, which my friends all called “the sticks” so I have come back full circle to my origins. The figures are carved cedar 5 x 5 x 36 inches and the branches reach and shroud and surround them.
