Printmaking: Encaustic, Collagraph Monotype on Rives BFK

This work speaks abstractly to the total chaos in the current world. The background field is a blended roll of intense color layered on a plexi plate which is printed first. The smaller circular and geometric shaped plates are created from cut up Yupo painted with hot wax and printed in relief then layered on top of the blended roll image.. The dynamic positioning of the cut plates reflects my stress at the state of our current society. I struggle to create beauty during these chaotic times. The title “A World Askew” encompasses my intention and inspiration for this work.
