Michele Krauss
My artistic focus centers on creating abstract landscapes that explore transformation as a shared force between the natural world and human life. What began as a subtle exploration of personal and social themes has evolved into a practice attuned to nature’s rhythms—where change is constant, interconnected, and reflective of our own shifting inner worlds.
I work on wood panels, canvas, and paper, incorporating oil paint, wire, sand, and more recently, Sumi ink and Japanese paper. Through layered textures and materials, I explore the interplay of movement and stillness, structure and fluidity. My work reflects the contrasts of the world around us—organic and man-made, fleeting and permanent, controlled and spontaneous.
At the core of my practice is a fascination with these tensions, shaped by global experiences. I aim to capture transformation—external and internal—through forms that reveal something beyond the visible and invite a dialogue that continues to evolve.
