As a mixed media artist, I have spent years exploring and combining various materials to express the intricacies of human memory, emotion, and perception. My work often bridges 21st-century Modernism with the new realism movement, capturing not what is seen, but what is felt and remembered. The intuitive realism at the heart of my paintings has led me on a journey to explore photography as a new medium in my artistic practice. Although my roots are in painting, I began developing my photography work in earnest just last year, bringing with it a fresh dimension to my exploration of light, color, and texture.
Photography allows me to capture fleeting moments, unveiling hidden beauty in the everyday. It is an evolution of my mixed media approach, focusing on the delicate interplay between light and shadow, abstraction, and the way our eyes perceive the world around us. In my photographs, I seek to express not just the subject, but the emotional and sensory experience of the moment. Each image is an invitation to see beyond the surface, to find resonance in the seemingly ordinary, and to embrace the energy that exists in the unseen.
Through photography, I continue to challenge myself and my artistic practice, using the camera as another tool to reveal the truths that lie beneath the surface. I am excited by the endless possibilities this new medium offers and look forward to sharing more of this evolving work with the world.
