Joanna’s career in photography began in Austin, Texas. She works exclusively in the photo-documentary. “Photo-documentaries are what I do to try to make a difference. I work to capture images that share either a particular theme or are a social commentary on a specific issue, offering others perhaps, a different perspective.” Joanna is a film trained photographer. “Even though I use a digital camera, I still photograph the reality in front of me and present it as I have photographed it without alteration. True photography will always be about capturing the light, listening to the world around me, and documenting what is.” Joanna is an award winning photographer, whose documentary work has received numerous awards including Best Cultural Commentary. She is also a three time competitor in the renowned ArtFields competition.
