Aside from being an accomplished Architect, [the Member] is also a Visual Artist, creating paintings [oil and watercolor], monotypes, and photographs. Her paintings aim to capture the “genius loci,” or essential nature of the place, of key Architectural works. Those explorations have, in turn, assisted with her professional design work.
She uses her own photographs as the basis for paintings. Therefore, her passion is travel, and learning about new countries, cities, towns, and landscapes through this artistic endeavor!
The paintings submitted for this exhibition portray distinct spaces — large areas where the built environment is perfectly in sync with the natural world.
