Becoming a commuter late in life, the visuals in the subway have sensitized me to the lives of all those who ride, guide and sustain the system, and how they protect their personal space. In a city of nearly 8 million, the diversity and impact of so many lives upon each other, requires this protection That said, it is also the moments when those boundaries are broken by the good or bad interactions, that defines the residents’ and visitors’ experience.
