As you probably know, NAWA has been a volunteer-run organization since it was founded in 1889. Women empowering women artists is a compelling way to contribute your precious time.

NAWA has a wide variety of opportunities for each member to fulfill their requested 6 hours per year contribution of time. When you sign into the Member’s Portal there is a link called Get Involved. There you will find a spreadsheet with lists of “Micro Projects” which can be done without too much engagement but will help you towards your volunteer goal.

For those of you who would like to contribute more time, NAWA offers a range of possibilities. Each of these might tap into a skill you’ve developed during your journey through life. Perhaps you like to write or do research, how about video editing? There is a range of possibilities for you to pay it forward with your interests and skills.

NAWA Art Angels are Signature Members who contribute 16 or more hours per year. NAWA honors them each year with a show dedicated specifically to them. Maybe next year will be your opportunity to become one of the NAWA Art Angels. Their dedicated exhibition is online on the NAWA website throughout the month of August. Don’t forget to see what NAWA’s gifted and generous Artists have been creating.
