Catherine Toulsaly

I am a self-taught artist. I started to paint and make assemblage art in 2006. Since 2008, direct carving has been my ordinary habit. Malvina Hoffman, a historic member of the National Association of Women Artists,, inspired me to become a sculptor with her words about how it must be experienced by the artist through her hands, mind, and heart. My work reflects my earlier interest as a Buddhist scholar. It also shows my growing concern for the environment. In our global effort to recycle and reuse unwanted materials, I use discarded stone as well as other salvaged items. In parallel to my work as a female sculptor, I am a passionate of philosophy and science. Since December 2018, I have been exploring the many facets of the relationship between the Universe and Consciousness at https://www.consciousnessanduniverse.com/
