“Rooted in Humanity” is a series of relief sculptures that records moments of humanity and issues of the environment, reflecting tensions within our current diverse and often divisive society. Inspiration for these works began with long walks in the woods examining nature’s design and detail. By exploring innovative methods and materials, Horowitz’s path is always evolving as are her techniques. Capturing body language, movement and how they relate to emotion and character are essential. Forms emerge from the earth, deeply rooted past struggles and growth. These works depict the human form both isolated and vulnerable and examine the frailty of the human condition.
