Creation, Compilation and Coordination of features content in various categories that appear on a quarterly or optional basis:
A Few Words from Co-editors
The writing of a few paragraphs to readers as an introduction to the issue.
The President’s Corner
NAWA President submits copy for each issue. Editing and finalizing copy and communication with president as necessary with final version.
A Few Words from Your Vice President
NAWA Vice President submits copy. Editing and finalizing copy as necessary.
On Your Radar
Identifying exhibitions and/or artists worthy of note and writing copy to fit.
In the News*
*Optional – Identifying subjects and issues of interest to NAWA administration and readers and developing descriptive copy and graphics to fit.

Red Carpet
Selection and interview of member artist whose contribution and artistry are considered worthy. Working with copy submitted to edit and rewrite as necessary. Selection of art/photography to accompany piece which is shared with co-editor, who then coordinates copy and graphics for final submission to web editor/s.
Shout Outs
Selection of member artists (minimum of 3) whose works in various mediums are featured. (Selection process may be shared with co-editors). Maintaining communication through process of artist’s submission, reworking and editing narrative copy as required. Working with co-editor to coordinate copy and graphics as required.
Who’s on Board
Selection of Board Member, preparation of questions to be submitted and maintaining good communication with member during process of editing and finalizing copy and submission of graphics.
Exhibits and Awards
Compilation of NAWA’s regular online and in-person exhibits and listings of awards.
Tools of the Trade
Selection of member artist who will present instructional copy on her process and philosophy of medium of choice. Editiing and rewriting as necessary and close coordination with artist and co-editor in copy/graphic coordination.
Chapter Chat
Maintaining good communication with Chapter Presidents (Massachusetts, Florida and South Carolina) to insure timely copy updates for each issue. Copy submitted to be edited as necessary and graphics to be coordinated with co-editor.
Letters
Selection and editing of letter submissions as necessary.
NAWA Reads
*Optional – Selection of book on topics in art field of relevance and writing of book review. New volunteers can be invited to participate as book reviewers.
In Memorium
*Optional – Creation of copy from published obits or other sources of NAWA members
Pathfinding
*Optional – a column created by member Linh Vivace, exploring different geographical areas of interest where women artists are active. Editing/finalizing of copy and graphics.
COMMITTEE ATTENDANCE
Regular attendance on Zoom at monthly PR meetings to remain up to date on activities of relevance to promote NAWA. Note: NAWA NOW is an independent publication featuring news to members. Its promotion as a relevant organ of communications can benefit from regular interaction with committee.
The Exhibit Committee *Optional attendance but continuous updates of exhibition plans are important for information compilation.
COMMUNICATIONS
Frequent communication with co-editors via zoom, email or phone to insure each entry is realized and there is mutual agreement of final copy and graphics among co-editors and contributors. Regular interfacing with NAWA administration for essential information vital to magazine readership, preparation and writing off regular eblasts to encourage reader involvement in NAWA NOW. An ongoing mission to find volunteers for a timely and professional release of the publication is essential and administration and committee chairs can interface with editors and assist with this campaign. Regular correspondence/meetings with co-editors, webmistress, and featured members to insure smooth and timely interchange of content for publication.
PROOFREADING
Careful and skillful final proofing of all copy content. (NOTE: To date a separate proofreader position has not been created. After editorial copy is finalized, a precise proofreading is essential for a professional publication.)
RESEARCH
Exploring new avenues for content of magazine. Currently, a research project to identify and publicize artists that are part of NAWA’s history is underway by the PR committee and some of these personages can be featured in magazine.
