The National Association of Women Artists and the Women Painters of Washington join forces for two epic Coast to Coast exhibitions Seattle & New York – Oct 2016-Mar 2017: The National Association of Women Artists (NAWA) and the Women Painters of Washington (WPW) are partnering together for bicoastal exhibitions taking place in both New York and Seattle to showcase visionary women in the arts from the Atlantic to the Pacific in Coast to Coast-WEST and Coast to Coast-EAST beginning October 2016. NAWA’s recent historic 126th birthday and WPW’s 85th mark the perfect occasion to bring these two influential organizations together for an epic showing of contemporary and traditional works by extraordinary women.
Women Artists Coast to Coast-WEST will exhibit 100 juried works, 50 from each organization, and show at the Washington Convention Center (705 Pike St, Seattle, WA 98101) from October 13, 2016 – January 11, 2017. A catered opening soiree will take place on October 13th from 5pm-8pm and is open to the public. Deborah Paine, former Curator of the Microsoft Arts Collection and current Curator and Collections Manager at the City of Seattle’s Office of Arts & Culture, is the juror of the WPW portion of the show. The NAWA juror is Margaret M. O’Reilly, Executive Director and Curator of Fine Art at the New Jersey State Museum.
